THE ONE THING THAT HAS TO BE TRUE (1 sentence) When the viewer finishes this post, they should believe: > [e.g., "This serum is the one thing I'd keep if I had to cut my routine to three products."] > [B2B example: "I stopped dreading Monday morning because of this."] > [Snack example: "This is what I actually keep in my desk drawer."] If you cannot finish that sentence in one line, you are not ready to brief, you are ready to do another round of positioning. --- ### 2. DELIVERABLE SPEC (5 bullets, no fluff) - **Platform + format:** [e.g., 1× Instagram Reel, 9:16 vertical, in-feed] - **Length window:** [e.g., 45–75 seconds, pick a window, not a single number] - **Hook + captions:** Hook in first 1.5s. On-screen captions required (accessibility + silent feed). - **Audio rights:** [Original audio ONLY if whitelisting] OR [Trending audio OK, organic only] - **Stories + Highlight:** [3 Stories with link sticker, pinned as "[Highlight name]" for 30 days] OR [N/A] --- ### 3. EXAMPLES (2 links) + ANTI-EXAMPLES (3 links with notes) **Examples we love** (vibe target, NOT a copy reference): 1. [link], why we love it: [1 line] 2. [link], why we love it: [1 line] **Anti-examples** (what we explicitly don't want): 1. [competitor link], *"too aggressive on the price call-out, makes the product feel cheap"* 2. [your past underperformer link], *"hook landed but the CTA was scripted, attribution flat at 0.3%"* 3. [generic UGC trope link], *"the 'POV: you finally found a ___' format, overused in our niche, viewers skip"* Anti-examples are the cheapest way to communicate taste. They also give the creator permission to push back when our examples contradict our anti-examples (taste is hard to articulate positively). --- ### 4. CONVERSION MECHANISM (brand owns this, creator writes the words) - **Code:** [DORCAS25] for [25% off first month] - **Landing page:** [collabbook.co/micro], UTM auto-attached - **Placement window:** Somewhere in the back half of the video, NOT as the closing line - **Tracking:** We attribute via code + UTM. Viewers don't need to mention you at checkout. DO NOT write a verbatim script for the CTA. "Use code DORCAS25 at checkout for 25% off your first month, link in bio, available for a limited time only" is what every script-locked CTA reads like, and the viewer tunes out at the comma. You write the CTA in your voice. --- ### 5. DISCLOSURE (non-negotiable, in writing) > "This is a paid partnership. Please use the platform's branded-content tool AND include #ad clearly in the caption (first 1–2 lines, not buried in hashtags). We confirm disclosure before payout." The FTC fines the brand, not the creator. We require both signals. Audiences in 2026 reward honest disclosure, soft-disclose (a vague "thanks to X for the gift") underperforms honest #ad in our data. --- ### 6. APPROVAL LOOP, DEADLINE, KILL SWITCH - **Approval loop:** We review one draft within 48 hours and give up to one round of feedback, scoped to the deliverable spec above. Beyond that, the change window in the contract applies. - **Deadline:** Post live by [day, date], between [time window] [creator's TZ]. If we miss this, both parties re-baseline in writing, no silent slips. - **Kill switch:** If we mutually agree at the draft stage the angle isn't landing, we pay a 30% kill fee, you keep the unaired content for your portfolio (no public sharing), and we both walk clean. --- ### 7. SIGN-OFF **Brand contact:** [name, email, response-time SLA: 24h on business days] **Creator contact:** [name, email, response-time SLA: 24h on business days] Reply "yes" and we send the contract + escrow funding link the same day. [Brand contact] --- ## Structural notes (do not send these to the creator) - One page total. If your brief runs longer than two pages you are substituting word count for clarity. - The "one thing that has to be true" is the north star. Every other section bends toward it. - The anti-examples section is the section most brands skip. It is also the section that prevents 80% of off-brand re-shoots. - Do not specify shots or scripts. You hired a creator.
